Who is responsible. Nicholas Bryant-Klair, writing as Makaio, is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. Contact: contact@makaioslibrary.com.
What is collected. Your name or nickname, optional Discord and TikTok usernames, electronic-signature name, age band, parent or guardian details where required, your Submission, agreement choices, submission date and limited pseudonymous technical records used to prevent spam and protect the website.
Why it is used. To receive and assess submissions, contact you if necessary, operate the submission programme, prevent misuse, and keep evidence of the rights and permissions granted.
Lawful bases. Information is processed where necessary to take steps connected with the submission agreement and for the Author’s legitimate interests in managing submissions, protecting the website, and documenting intellectual-property rights.
Who receives it. The information is delivered privately through Discord and may be processed by the website host, Discord and the Author’s email provider. These providers may process information outside the UK using their applicable safeguards.
How long it is kept. Submission and agreement records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to document and protect the rights granted. Optional contact details will be removed when no longer needed for those purposes.
Your rights. Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, restriction, objection or deletion of personal information. A request to delete personal data does not automatically cancel rights already granted under the Submission Terms where the Author has a lawful reason to retain the agreement record.
Your choices. Optional Discord and TikTok details do not have to be provided. The required identity, age and agreement information is needed to accept a Submission; without it, the Submission cannot be considered.
Automated decisions. The website does not use automated decision-making or profiling to decide whether a Submission will be used.
Complaints. Contact the Author first if you have a concern. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
